Dominican Republic was the first permanent Spanish settlement in the Americas or the “New World,” with the arrival of Christopher Columbus on his first voyage in 1492.

The Dominican flag is the only flag to include the bible and cross on it's flag. Dominicans don't look the same their is a variety of different hair types and skin colors.
