Dominican Republic is a Caribbean nation, It is a country that has over 10 million people and it's territory that is stretching 48,442 square kilometers. Dominican Republic was the first permanent Spanish settlement in the Americas or the “New World,” with the arrival of Christopher Columbus on his first voyage in 1492.
The Dominican flag is the only flag to include the bible and cross on it's flag. Dominicans don't look the same their is a variety of different hair types and skin colors. The flag, designed by Juan Pablo Duarte was hoisted the next day. Their are three fathers of the nation Juan Pablo Duarte, Matías Ramón Mella Castillo, and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez.
Juan Pablo Duarte an educated nationalist is considered the architect of Dominican Republic. Francisco del Rosario Sánchez proclaimed to the world the birth of Dominican Republic. Matías Ramón Mella a precursor to restore Dominican independence.
